Driver Education Cards

Last Updated on Wednesday, March 05, 2008 at 5:01 AM

The Kentucky Department of Education will no longer be distributing driver education completion cards because it is the local district staff that has verification of student course completion.

After contacting many insurance companies across the state, the Department of Education has determined that a student can simply submit a copy of the student report card/transcript that indicates successful completion of the driver education course as related to receiving a driver training discount. In addition, the Department of Transportation, Division of Licensing will also accept a copy of a student report card as proof of completion of a river safety course. Students who complete this driver safety course will be eligible to count the course toward the Graduated Licensing Program (GLP) requirement.
