Thanks for your feedback about the May 2009 test windows. Overall, the reaction has been very positive statewide. One issue that was identified is the conflict of high school Advanced Placement tests that take place in May. We will offer an optional window for high schools to avoid this conflict.
As I mentioned in my earlier e-mail, we will work out the details; however, if needed, we can offer high schools an optional window during the last two weeks in April to avoid the AP conflict.
Again, this would be an option. High schools would have to weigh the issues in order to make a decision.
We will continue to receive feedback, and staff will be working on the details.
My main reason to inform you of this testing window change was to provide guidance for your calendar discussions. I hope this follow-up information helps.
