Dear Superintendent,
The Kentucky Department of Education supports and recommends that each school and district implement a system of interventions, P-12, that responds to any student need, based on appropriate data. In addition to prior data sources, Kentucky now has the opportunity to identify students’ high school and postsecondary readiness based on EXPLORE, PLAN and ACT results.
The Department is also aware that Kentucky schools are planning and implementing student intervention systems. As districts and schools work to address student needs, please review the attached document that includes information and guidance about appropriate interventions in general, as well as specific EPAS interventions and documentation guidelines.
We appreciate your continued efforts to use all data sources to identify gaps and intervene so that all students can be proficient and prepared for success.
