EXPLORE Assessment

Last Updated on Thursday, August 28, 2008 at 5:02 AM

The EXPLORE program is a curriculum-based assessment program designed to help 8th grade students gain an understanding of their academic development in terms of preparation for college, make the most of their opportunities in high school and beyond, and guide them as they start thinking about future educational and career planning.

EXPLORE assesses academic progress, provides an early indicator of college readiness, helps students understand and begin to explore the wide range of career options open to them, and assist them in developing a high school coursework plan that prepares them to achieve their post-high school goals.

All students enrolled in a Kentucky public school in grade 8, except those enrolled in the Alternate Assessment program, should complete the EXPLORE assessment.
