House Bill 91, often referred to as the “Bullying Bill,” (now codified as KRS 158.156) was passed during the 2008 legislative session.  The legislation requires the Kentucky Department of Education to provide guidance to local school districts to assist with the implementation at the local level.  Additionally, the legislation requires that “model policies” (bullying, code of conduct, and supervision of students) be provided to school districts.  The Dropout Prevention Branch in KDE has prepared a guidance document for HB 91, including a set of model policies to assist schools with the implementation of the new legislation.
